LEARN ONE OF LIFE'S GREATEST SKILLS

Our extremely charming masseur Pierre is back, after many successful Massage Retreats, to turn a group of lucky hopefuls into masseurs. Over four days, he’ll be taking you through the basics of ‘Myofacial Release’ and ‘Trigger Point Therapy’ - teaching you how to release tension and repair muscle damage.

You’ll start with the fascinating theory behind both approaches, and Pierre will then demonstrate some of the techniques on members of the group - while you mirror his movements as he goes. You’ll then be able to practice what you’ve just learnt on your fellow students.

Pierre’s workshop won’t grant you a diploma, but in 4 days, you’ll be able to give a safe full-body massage, find and release tensions throughout the body, understand the magic of ‘trigger points’ and achieve a good level of myofascial release. All of which you can use to give that special someone an amazing massage.

PRICES : from €798 per person all-in

This includes:

  • 5 nights accommodation (2 people sharing each suite - Super-King or 2 single beds)

WHAT THE RETREAT WILL COVER

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE : Soft tissue therapy relieves pain and body aches, increases range of motion, and rebalances the entire body. It can increase muscle recovery, soften scars and eliminate adhesions in muscles, tendons, fascias and nerves. It does this stretching the fascia and releasing the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY: Technique that focuses on stimulating and releasing ‘trigger points’ in the body. These points develop through muscle strain from repetitive movements, standing or sitting improperly, emotional stress, allergies, nutritional deficiencies and infammation. When our muscles harbor trigger points, we experience aches and physical limitations. Trigger points cause a shortening of the muscle fibers. Trigger Point release can be painful at times, yet the efects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR: PIERRE GRAUX

We love Pierre. And our guests love Pierre. Because not only is he an excellent masseur, he’s incredibly sweet and charming to boot. And there’s nothing quite like trusting your aches and pains to a kind and empathetic pair of hands. So when we asked Pierre to run a massage retreat for us, we felt sure that he would do an amazing job - imparting his keenely-honed knowledge in a relaxed, friendly and expert way.

Pierre came to massage through Yoga, while living in Montréal. A native of northern France, he moved to Canada in 2010 in search of new experiences and fell in love with Yoga, becoming a certified instructor.
Moving back to France (to live in our neighbouring village of Neffiès), he decided to make the (short) leap from Yoga to Massage. He specialised and became certified in Trigger Points and Myofascial Release techniques in Montpellier, training with a renowned Israeli instructor.

Pierre is extremely passionate about massage and seems to have an uncanny knack for being able to hunt down and then release the most deeply-seated of knots and pains in your body. This is what Pierre had to say about his passion for massage:

“Massage is a gift, for the one who receives it but also for the practitioner. All bodies are different and each one teaches you new things, helping you to master your technique. I am also grateful to people who grant me the privilege of massaging them, because they instil their trust in me to help them relax, feel better and relieve pain or tensions.”
