About your hosts
We escaped to Languedoc from London in 2003 - leaving behind all the stresses of advertising and the rain of London, for the stresses of running a web-design business and the sunshine of Languedoc.
We dabbled in property renovation (who doesn't down here!) and then launched a property and tourism website called Creme-de-Languedoc.com - which is still going strong, introducing property sellers to buyers, and holiday homes to holiday visitors. We then set up a web design agency - mywebspinners.com - which just about keeps us in croissants and local wine all year round...
In late 2007, we stumbled across and fell in love with our current house (and home to Cinq & Sept). Known as 'La Grande Maison' - it's basically a huge 18th century trophy-home that was divided into three houses in the '50s. It's said that it was built by a local notable who made a fortune during the Napoleonic wars - and presided over a huge olive farm (in the days before the 'wine rush').
We fell in love with the Italianesque balustrade and the massive wisteria that winds its way along it, the high ceilings, the crazy encaustic tiles in every room and, of course, the gorgeous views of nearby Caux and vineyards.
Having renovated the second floor, and turned it into the first three of Cinq & Sept's 'suites' - we've now renovated the ground floor to create two more (larger) suites, as well as the garden and pool. It should, assuming we don't have nervous breakdowns in the process, result in a really beautiful and relaxing 'escape' for anyone looking to get away from it all.
