The best of a gay hotel and a gay guest house - in the south of France.
Welcome to Cinq & Sept, where the warmth and welcome of an exclusively gay guest house is combined with the luxury and facilities of a gay hotel.
Set in the centre of a traditional wine-making village in the unspoilt Languedoc region of the south of France, Cinq & Sept is only 25 minutes' drive from the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, and 50 minutes from France's second 'gay capital' - Montpellier.
Cinq & Sept offers you:
- 5 luxurious, self-catering suites
- In an 18th century house
- Garden and heated pool (perfect for autumn swimming)
- In a traditional village in the South of France
- 25 minutes from the Mediterranean
- 50 minutes from Montpellier - France's 2nd gay city
A gay 'guest house' offering private apartments...
We wanted Cinq et Sept to be a ‘home from home’ for our guests. Five luxury self-catering ‘suites’ offer their own fully-equipped kitchen and lounge. As with any luxury guesthouse, each is equipped with all those special touches that make a holiday really special - such as air-conditioning, 'raindance' showers, free wi-fi broadband, satellite TV and wonderfully soft 'Pima cotton' sheets and towels.
...and a 'gay hotel' with private garden and pool
The accommodation at Cinq & Sept is set within a grand 18th century 'maison bourgeoise' (French for ‘big fancy house’), with its own private garden. A large swimming pool and sun bathing area ensure you make the most of Languedoc's 300+ days of sunshine. Our garden also offers a dining terrace, summer kitchen and lounge area shaded by trees - where you can relax with a cocktail each evening and chat with the other guests about your day on the beach.
Europe’s hottest gay holiday destination
The Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France is fast becoming one of the most popular gay vacation destinations in Europe. Montpellier, the capital of the region, is France's second 'gay city' - with plenty of great bars, cafés, saunas and restaurants. The region's beaches are huge and sandy (unlike the more pebbly beaches of the Cote d'Azur), and most have naturist and gay sections. Some are remote and wild - whereas others are dotted with chic beach clubs, where bronzed waiters ferry drinks to your sun bed.
Languedoc also offers visitors France's best oysters and seafood in bustling ports all along the coast. Inland, discover dramatic Cathar castles perched on rocky outcrops; hot springs and skiing in the Pyrénées; and spectacular Roman monuments. We especially love the region's many lakes and rivers - they’re perfect for swimming in and canoeing down. For golfers, there are a wide selection of golf courses. And, of course, not far from us is the gorgeous Canal du Midi, which meanders its way through the vineyards for miles under a panoply of Plane Trees.
The real South of France
Whereas much of Provence and the Côte d’Azur have been spoilt by tourism, development and ‘bling’ - Languedoc is still relatively untouched. It’s home to some of France's most beautiful villages - where you’ll find traditional cafés in leafy squares serving simple but delicious cuisine and, of course, delicious wines at ridiculously low prices.
Wine, of course, is what makes Languedoc tick. This is still the world's largest wine-producing area, and so wine domains and superb wine-tasting opportunities are just about everywhere. In fact, there are many excellent wineries only minutes from Cinq et Sept - where you can while away an afternoon tasting the region's famously velvety reds, honeyed Viogniers and crisp Picpoul whites.
We're here to make your stay at our gay guest house / hotel truly special
We've lived in this beautiful part of France for over seven years - and never tire of wanting to share it with people who visit. We'd love to point you in the direction of the best local restaurants, the most interesting sightseeing spots and our favourite beaches.
Although the holiday rental accommodation at Cinq & Sept is self-catering, we've designed the garden and pool areas to encourage our gay guests to meet one another should they want to. We'll certainly be joining you in the evenings for a drink by the pool - and will be organising the occasional barbecue for anyone who'd like to join us.
You'll also find a very extensive 'guest manual' in each holiday suite - which lists our chosen sights, beaches and eating places - just to make sure you don't waste any of your precious holiday time at the wrong beach or in a dud restaurant.
